I am an experienced public speaker on Web2.0, Social Media and the New Conversation. I have a fast, but clear style of presenting, and I know how to engage my audience. Depending on the situation, I can present to impress, inspire, cooperate or teach. I have presented to 500+ audiences, but am also comfortable with small, highly interactive groups.

Over 15 years of experience and observation

I went online in 1994, at the end of my study at Delft University of Technology. I was amazed by AltaVista, and Gopher. And I watched the world evolve and revolutionize in reaction to the new ways of information sharing that were initiated by ‘The Web’. I experimented with creating online presences for the bands I played in. Dabbled a bit with website design and development. And continued to be amazed by the arrival of Google, Amazon and the plethora of new services that rallied for my attention.

It wasn’t until 2005 that I professionally got involved with website development (as a project director) and I started blogging in 2006. And then the Web2.0 craze hit the world. Which is when I first spoke in public about the new opportunities that the exchange and enrichment of  information presented to the world. Thank you Tim O’Reilly for creating that particular ‘hook’ for my scattered thoughts!

Five years of experience with Social Media training and workshops

With the advent of the Web2.0 world, I started giving lectures, workshops and training about Social Media. I delivered keynote speeches, team training sessions, individual support and management overview sessions. A few of the organisations that I presented to are:
